You know how Donald Trump keeps bragging the $102 million money he’s given to charity? The Washington Post did a little sleuthing and found that — as usual — our Slumlord Billionaire has over-promised and under-delivered.
Donald Trump handed over a massive 93-page list of his 4,844 charitable contributions. And guess what? In April, WAPO found he mostly gave away free rounds of golf at his courses. “Not a single one of those donations was actually a personal gift of Trump’s own money.”
WAPO: Donald Trump “promised millions to charity. We found less than $10,000 over 7 years.”
That was bad enough, but now the plot sickens. After In May, Donald Trump finally paid $1 million he’d promised for helping veterans and their families. But it took him over four months and plenty of public shaming from the media. That made the folks at WAPO suspicious about Trump’s other promises, so they did some more sleuthing.
Then, on June 28, WAPO dropped a massive, stinking truth-bomb of death. If His Hairness had followed through on all his promises over the past 15 years, his charitable giving would have “topped $8.5 million.” As it turns out, the Donald gave only $2.8 million through his foundation.
In the past seven years, he’s only made one personal donation (aside from the alleged veterans’ fundraiser): That was in 2009 for less than $10,000. WAPO also contacted 167 charities linked to Mein Trumpf. Only 11 confirmed that they’d received a personal donation, 77 said they’d never received anything, and 40 refused to touch that question with a 10-foot pole.

Donald Trump’s campaign, of course, insists that their Dear Leader gives away millions of dollars privately. Because we all know how modest and self-effacing he is.
Trump and his staff are adamant that he has given away millions privately, off the foundation’s books. Trump won’t release his tax returns, which would confirm such gifts, and his staff won’t supply details. “There’s no way for you to know or understand,” Trump spokeswoman Hope Hicks told BuzzFeed recently.
The Washington Post adds that the Short-Fingered Vulgarian has revoked their press credentials.
