Bomb Threats At Two S.C. Churches Holding Vigils Following The Massacre

A vigil for the nine victims of the  Charleston church massacre was evacuated on Thursday due to a bomb threat, according to news reports.

The vigil was being held at the Morris Brown AME Church in Charleston. Numerous lawmakers attended the vigil, including South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley (R), U.S. Sen. Tim Scott (R-SC), Rep. Jim Clyburn (D-SC), Charleston Mayor Joe Riley, and North Charleston Mayor Keith Summey, Talking Points Memo reports.

During the vigil, calls for stricter gun control laws were made which garnered a standing ovation, but Republicans Governor Haley, Sen. Tim Scott, and Attorney General Alan Wilson remained seated.

Conservatives stuck to party lines. Dylann Storm Roof, a full blown racist, resided in a state which contains 19 known hate groups — including two factions of the Ku Klux Klan and four “white nationalist” organizations, but by all means, let’s not discuss issues regarding race or gun control.

Because that would be bad.

It wasn’t just one church that received a bomb threat today. AJC notes that two churches in South Carolina received bomb threats while they were holding or wrapping up vigils.

SCOTUS, we need to have a talk about that ‘post-racial America’ thing.
