How low will the GOP’s failed Indiana Governor Mike Pence go to defend his boss’ indefensibly vile statements? Very low, apparently.

In a stunningly cynical Facebook post, Mike Pence pretends Donald Trump never trashed DNC speaker Khizr Khan and his wife Ghazala. He then claims he and Donald Trump “cherish” heroes like their son, Capt. Humayan Khan.

“Donald Trump and I believe that Captain Khan is an American hero and his family, like all Gold Star families, should be cherished by every American.”

Mike Pence then goes on to blame Khan’s death on President Barack Obama and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. Yes, you read that right.

“Captain Khan gave his life to defend our country in the global war on terror. Due to the disastrous decisions of Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton, a once-stable Middle East has now been overrun by ISIS. This must not stand.”

But wait, Mike Pence: Humayan Khan died in 2004.

That’s right. Humayan Khan died in 2004, before Barack Obama joined the US Senate. As for then-Senator Hillary Clinton and then-US Rep. Mike Pence, both of them voted to wage war on Iraq in 2002. So by Mike Pence’s line of logic, GOP President George W. Bush was the one responsible for Khan’s heroic demise.

Oh, and if Mike Pence and Donald Trump truly “cherish” and respect our fallen soldiers why do they want to deport the likes of Humayun Khan? Unlike Donald Trump, who has never sacrificed a damned thing in his life, Khan earned his Purple Heart and Bronze Star for intercepting a truck full of explosives and saving the lives of the men under his command.

By suspending immigration from countries that have been compromised by terrorism, rebuilding our military , defeating ISIS at its source and projecting strength on the global stage, we will reduce the likelihood that other American families will face the enduring heartbreak of the Khan family.

Mike Pence then insists:

Donald Trump will support our military and their families and we will defeat the enemies of our freedom.

But by glossing over Donald Trump’s blatant disrespect towards a Gold Star family like the Khans, Mike Pence amply shows that neither he nor his boss care about our soldiers, our veterans and their families at all.

Here is Gov. Mike Pence’s Facebook post so you can revel in his sheer idiocy.

Meanwhile, Donald Trump whines about how he’s entitled to attack the Khan family.
