The man who thought half-term Governor of Alaska Sarah Palin would be a great vice-president, offered a non-endorsement sort of endorsement of Sen. Ted Cruz.

The Hill reports:

Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) offered his colleague Sen. Ted Cruz a non-endorsement on the eve of the Texas Republican’s expected presidential launch.

“He is a valued member of the Senate Armed Services Committee, him and I are friendly and I think he is a very viable candidate,” McCain, the chairman of the committee, said on CNN’s “State of the Union.”

And if Cruz ultimately wins the nomination, he could beat Hillary Clinton and go all the way in 2016, McCain suggested.

But McCain pointed out his deepest support remains with his friend and potential 2016 Republican presidential contender, Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.).

“Lindsey Graham is the one I think knows best about national security,” McCain, who never shies away from backing a loser, said.

Cruz is expected to announce his White House bid Monday during a speech at the evangelical Liberty University.

Think about that for a second.

“Since 1971, Liberty Christian University has been Training Champions for Christ through Christian Education,” and that’s the school Jerry Falwell founded.

Senator Barry Goldwater famously said that “the Religious Right scares the hell out of me,” and he said of the Rev. Jerry Falwell, “All good Christians should kick him in the ass.”

Maybe Ted is gonna kick him some fake Christian ass while he’s there, then beat the shit out of himself.

As for McCain, he owes all of us an apology for unleashing Sarah what’s her name on the world. We’ve suffered enough from McCain’s choices, thank you very much.
