Donald Trump Jr: My Dad Is Too Good For You, America (VIDEO)

Taking to the spin room immediately after last night’s debate, Donald Trump Jr. revealed how very highly he thinks of his father when he said the presidency of the United States would be “a step down” for him.

“He hasn’t spent his whole life to be up on a debate stage like a career politician,” Trump Jr. said in a passionate defense of his father’s debate performance, which was widely panned. He then argued that Donald was at a disadvantage because the family business is less sordid than politics.

Fox News caught the comment at about the one-minute mark of this video. Watch:

Behold the condescension of the privileged son. Emphasis mine:

He’s spent his life creating jobs, building things, doing things that would benefit American workers in this country. He’s done that for his whole career. So you know what? He’s learning. He’s learning as he goes. If he was doing this his whole life he’d be the greatest politician in the history of the world. Unlike Hillary Clinton, who’s gotten very rich being a politician, peddling American influence, he hasn’t. This is only a step down. But he wants to make sure that all Americans, all ethnicities and backgrounds, have the same opportunity to do what he’s been able to do: To start a great family, to start a great business.

Get that? Donald Trump is too good for you people. His family is so great, and his business is so great, that we should all be grateful to Donald for setting those lofty labors aside and deigning to sully himself with politics for the sake of us unworthies.

Only Donald’s deep love for an undeserving nation could bring him down the escalator at Trump Tower. Only his selfless concern for our well-being could ever drive Donald to smear Mexicans as rapists, wink at the support of white supremacists, and hold a press conference with Bill Clinton’s accusers.

Vote for him and you will all have wonderful families and businesses. Otherwise you’re just an ingrate. Why can’t we simply accept Donald’s love for us and stop complaining about a bit of a grope here and there?
