Even though Republicans and Democrats are calling out Donald Trump over his ‘shithole countries’ remark, Fox News is sticking by their president. Jesse Watters, host of The Five, defended the former reality show star for calling African nations and Haiti “shithole countries.”
“This is how the forgotten men and women of America talk at the bar,” Watters said. “If you’re at a bar, and you’re in Wisconsin, and you think they’re bringing in a bunch of Haiti people, or El Salvadorans, or people from Niger, this is how some people talk.”
“Is it graceful? No,” he continued. “Is it polite, or delicate? Absolutely not. Is it a little offensive? Of course it is. But you know what? This doesn’t move the needle at all.”
“This is who Trump is, and if he offends some people, fine,” Watters added.
.@JesseBWatters on @POTUS‘ ‘s—hole’ remarks “This doesn’t move the needle at all. This is who Trump is. He doesn’t care. He shoots from the hip. And if he offends some people, fine. There’s so many more offensive things that are happening in this world.” https://t.co/Z8lagBViYe pic.twitter.com/syst3qtlls

Trump’s comments were condemned by Democrats and Republicans. Only Trump’s most ardent supporters are left to defend him. Trump has consistently diminished our country’s standing in the world as he lashes out at others. This time, he lashed out at entire countries, deeming whole populations to be unfit to live in the U.S, a country which has always welcomed the tired, “huddled masses yearning to breathe free.”
Things sure have changed since President Barack Obama was in office, huh?
