Alleged President Donald Trump has inadvertently inspired people to donate to the ACLU after he created chaos by implementing a ban on Muslims entering the U.S. Of course, it’s not a complete ban. Muslim citizens in countries Donald does business with will be allowed to enter our borders. Tech investor and billionaire Chris Sacca tweeted that he will match donations to the ACLU up to $25,000.

Lebanese-American inventor Tony Fadell followed Sacca’s lead.

Donations are pouring in.

Singer Sia offered to match donations up to $100,000.

Rosie O’Donnell did as well.

Trump was sworn in one week ago and has already created chaos over the ban. “I never thought I’d see the day when refugees who have fled war-torn countries in search of a better life would be turned away at our doorstep,” New York Governor Andrew Cuomo said after two Iraqi men were detained at JFK Airport. “This is not who we are. And not who we should be.”

The Daily News reports:

Trump’s executive action bars permanent legal U.S. residents and visa-holders from seven majority Muslim nations from entering the country for 90 days even if their documents are in order.

Some legal residents were in mid-flight when Trump signed his executive order Friday — and were detained at airports upon arrival back in the States.

Legal residents have now been barred from the U.S. Approximately 5,000 people gathered outside Kennedy Airport after at least 17 people were detained– to protest Trump’s executive order.

We donated 50 bucks and sent a screenshot to the accounts above. If you donate to the ACLU be sure to do the same thing to have your contribution matched.
