Alleged President Donald Trump’s chief strategist Steve Bannon on Wednesday night had some hostile words for the press in an interview with the New York Times. The former head honcho for Breitbart.com told the paper, “The media should be embarrassed and humiliated and keep its mouth shut and just listen for awhile.”“I want you to quote this,” he continued. “The media here is the opposition party.”
Team Trump has been attacking the press since his campaign began. Bannon pretty much just called the press an enemy.
CNN anchor Jake Tapper responded to Bannon’s jaw-dropping remark to “keep its mouth shut” and he did it in the best way possible.
“Uhh…no,” Tapper said with a grin on his face.

Trump has consistently attacked the media and journalists who give him unfavorable coverage. At a Trump rally while the alleged billionaire was on the campaign trail, the then-GOP nominee targeted MSNBC reporter Katy Tur.
He pointed her out, saying, “What a lie. Katy Tur. What a lie it was. Third. Rate. Reporter. Remember that.”
Trump supporters turned on her. It was so bad that the Secret Service had to safely escort her to her car. It is not normal for a president to try to censor the press. The First Amendment is still a thing.
Mr. Bannon, we think you should keep your big mouth shut and pick up a copy of the Constitution to give it a read. Donald has never read it. He doesn’t even read books.
