Kellyanne Conway: If I Was Killed Tomorrow, People Would Applaud (VIDEO)

Poor Kellyanne Conway.

There she was, with maybe the one show on TV that’s kind to her, Fox and Friends. Who knows what possessed her? She was talking along, remarking how the media is responsible for that guy shooting Steve Scalise and some cops… Maybe it’s just the TrumpCo training. Maybe she’s just gotten too good for her job. Nobody knows what it is, but Kellyanne somehow managed to make Wednesday’s tragedy about little old her:

If I was shot and killed tomorrow, half of Twitter would explode in applause and excitement — this is the world we live in now.

Wait, what?

I mean, she’s not necessarily wrong, but let’s see if we can find some context here.

(Murmuring) Steve Scalise… fighting for his life… trail of blood… toning down the rhetoric

Nope. I got nothin’.

Now let me clarify: When I say she’s not wrong, I’m not wishing death on Kellyanne Conway, especially not quickly enough to prove her point. But holy cow, you guys. What a drama queen! She was nowhere near the field. She has nothing to with the incident. There is literally no way in the universe to bring that shooting full circle and make it about herself. But with some pluck and determination, Kellyanne did it. You break that glass ceiling, girl! Hashtag per-SIST!

Okay, but seriously.

That’s gross. It’s not out of line with the kind of talk that happens in Trumpland, but I mean, let’s not normalize this, okay? It was gross when Trump said he could shoot someone with zero consequences during his campaign. And it’s not healthy to think exclusively in metaphors, either. When Sarah Huckabee Sanders compared Trump to Jesus, that was gross too.

So let’s all take a step back, and remember what’s actually important — what ALL conversations should come back to: The police state we might have to live in if we can’t control people’s rhetoric.
