Being the president of the United States definitely has its perks. At least Barack Obama thought so when he stopped on by The Late Show with Stephen Colbert on Sunday night to give his congratulations to the Denver Broncos on their third super bowl win.
What’s funny though is President Obama’s message was taped last week.
We can see in the clip that Colbert is tossing the football to some soldiers in Afghanistan, astronaut Scott Kelly, Chewbacca and then finally president Obama.
President Obama then makes a claim that his favorite moment of the Super Bowl happened when the “winning team sealed the deal with a touchdown thanks to the guy that was really good”. A very politician type response.
Mr. Obama then goes on to congratulate the Denver Broncos after admitting his message was pre-taped and the ordeal was the plot to Nicholas Cage’s film franchise National Treasure.
Barack Obama said:
“It turns out, all of the Super Bowl winners for the next 50 years are written on the back of the Constitution,”
But why take my word for it when you can watch the clip for yourself and see a reprimand being handed about by the First Lady for throwing a football in the White House.
It’s hard to disagree that Obama’s snarky comments are just a little bit funny especially the one about the constitution. I wouldn’t be surprised if some conservative news analyst take it out of context. Then again we can’t really count the possibility out that Fox News will smear the man because he went on TV instead of fixing the country, which they feel is broken for some reason.
One thing we can wonder is maybe Barack Obama will try his hand at stand-up comedy after he is no longer president.I mean, George W. Bush paintings are more popular than his work as a president.
