McDonald’s Twitter account raised quite a ruckus Thursday morning, and now someone’s going to pay. Would you like a pink slip with those fries?

“@realDonaldTrump,” their message read, “You are actually a disgusting excuse of a President and we would love to have @BarackObama back, also you have tiny hands.”

Them’s fighting words.

The tweet went up at 9:15 am and got taken down less than 20 minutes later…But on Twitter, that’s light years. Sure enough, Bloomberg TV‘s Joe Weisenthal got hold of that errant McDonald’s tweet and got a screen shot. He then wryly quipped, “Corporations are people,” and shared it with his 129K followers. Oops.

But wait, there’s more. To Weisenthal’s amusement, the errant tweeter managed to pin it to the top of the page before someone from McDonald’s got wise to their shenanigans.

The folks at McDonald’s corporate offices in Oak Brook, Ill. likely hoped they could keep this on the down low. But since the Internet is the giver of all things, they finally had to admit what happened. “Twitter notified us that our account was compromised,” their tweet announced. “We deleted the tweet, secured our account and are now investigating this.”

Of course, some Twitizens couldn’t resist giving McDonald’s a hard time.

TV Line‘s Ryan Schwartz took note of how the vagueness of the above tweet implied their account may have gotten hacked, and commented: “‘Compromised.’ Not a rogue employee, huh?”

Hackers….Right. Nothing to be ashamed of here, A user named Mike P. Williams noted…”but yeah, those damned hackers are a right nuisance.”

Meanwhile, some users were rendered speechless and had no words.

Meanwhile, some have guesses as to who the culprit is.

Oh, and cue ticked off angry Trump supporters blaming Barack Obama and threatening boycotts, 10, 9, 8, 7…Twitter is now ablaze with accusations against Obama’s former press secretary Robert Gibbs. In 2015, he joined McDonald’s as the head of their Public Relations department.

And, as The Rainbow Jedi observes, “I can already see Trump tweeting ‘I never liked them anyway.'”
