Melania Trump, Who Sues Random Bloggers, Wants To Champion Free Speech

While suing random bloggers who quoted from a source, Melania Trump will reportedly because a champion of free speech. Yes, the same Melania Trump who filed a $150 million lawsuit against the publisher of the Daily Mail and a Maryland blogger, Webster Tarpley, for running articles that claimed she worked at an escort service in the 1990s. And here’s the thing. She threatened not just that one blogger, but many others, including me when I wrote the story for another site. The wife of the biggest cyberbully on Twitter claimed in October, that as First Lady she would fight cyberbullying.

And now, the National Enquirer, who has had an ongoing romance with Trump, quoted an unidentified source this week who said Melania would pursue “an unprecedented push to protect freedom of speech,” in addition to her “campaign to eliminate cyberbullying,” according to Raw Story.

“Melania grew up under a communist regime where citizens could not speak their minds — or be themselves — without fear of a knock on their door in the middle of the night,” the source told the crazy-time tabloid. “It’s what she loves most about America — and it’s the issue she will make her own.”

SURE she will:

Donald Trump vowed during the campaign that he would “open up our libel laws” to make it easier to sue reporters and publications that “write purposely negative and horrible and false articles.”

Trump’s attacks on the media have been numerous. Free Speech to the Trumps mean the press should only write favorable things about them. For example, many sites took their posts down because of the lawyer’s letters sent to them. The fact is, bloggers cannot afford to be sued by an alleged billionaire. One of those, instead of apologizing, is my friend Andrew Bradford from Liberal America.

Andrew wrote, in part:

This is being written under duress because I don’t have enough money to fight a legal battle against the Trump machine. Yesterday, I wrote a story based on Melania Trump allegedly having been an escort or paid sex worker when she arrived in New York. A few hours later, the owner of Liberal America received an email threatening us with legal action if we didn’t do as the Trump attorneys instructed — remove the “false statements.” So this is my apology.

First of all, I’m very very sorry that I wrote an article about the past of Melania Trump. I got my information from reputable sources and reported on what was being reported there, but apparently that isn’t good enough to pass muster in the version of American freedom of the press envisioned by Mr. Trump and his team of legal vultures.

Additionally, I’m also sorry that the personal image of the wannabe first lady is so insecure that she feels the need to send her legal hell-hounds chasing after small, independent journalists such as me. I had no idea I was such a threat to the Trump campaign or family. Imagine my surprise.

B…bu..but Andrew, she’s all about free speech! Ask the Enquirer, Donald’s BFF.
