Donald Trump demanded an apology after ESPN anchor Jemele Hill called him a white supremacist and a bigot and yet, each day he seems to confirm her claim. Trump has been on the three-day rampage, tweeting his demands that black athletes stand during the national anthem instead of opting to kneel in protest of racial inequality and police brutality. This morning, Trump was at it again, this time to praise NASCAR’s decision to fire anyone who takes a knee during the anthem.
“So proud of NASCAR and its supporters and fans,” the fascist president tweeted. “They won’t put up with disrespecting our Country or our Flag – they said it loud and clear!”

Trump has praised Confederate monuments and never addressed the hate-flags which are enthusiastically adored by NASCAR fans.
Hill had something to say about that.
“But that Confederate flag is welcome anytime at NASCAR races #TheIrony,” she tweeted.

While NASCAR’s chairman Brian France called the Confederate flag an “offensive symbol” in 2015, he did not require that it be removed from speedways.
Others weighed in, too.
Trump says NASCAR fans don’t disrespect our country
You know, the ones who fly the confederate flag at their sporting events https://t.co/MKxD0Fw3zn

NASCAR allows the Confederate Flag. Trump & his supporters on cable TV who say this isn’t about racism need to watch out for lightning. https://t.co/0MzT46q7dP

Oh, wait: Confederate flag = “Not divisive”. Kneeling = grounds for removal of citizenship and/or deportation. https://t.co/Uv8SnM2yTH

NASCAR is the whitest sport ever so its decision to fire black drivers while not banning the display of Confederate flags isn’t too surprising. There are only a few black drivers with NASCAR and they have been targeted by booing and racial slurs. In 2013, only 2 percent of NASCAR fans were African-American so we’re not sure why Trump feels so ‘proud’ over its decision to ban taking a knee. It’s not like they took a gamble in that decision.
