Obama Obliterates Trump’s Crazy-Time Claim That He Tapped His Phone Lines

Conspiracy theorist Donald Trump was knocked down a peg or two after Obama had to explain to the Twitter-addicted alleged POTUS how to president. Trump went on a tweetstorm this morning, accusing former President Barack Obama of tapping his phone lines before the election. He threw out these accusations on Twitter without offering a drop of proof. Democratic Congressman Ted Lieu of California tweeted that if Trump’s claims are true, then the amateur president is in ‘deep shit.’

Obama spokesman Kevin Lewis weighed in on Twitter, saying, “Neither @barackobama nor any WH official under Obama has ever ordered surveillance on any US Citizen. Any suggestion is unequivocally false.”

“A cardinal rule of the Obama Administration was that no White House official ever interfered with any independent investigation led by the Department of Justice,” Lewis said in a statement.

“As part of that practice, neither President Obama nor any White House official ever ordered surveillance on any U.S. citizen,” he added. “Any suggestion otherwise is simply false.”

Obama’s former deputy national security adviser, Ben Rhodes, tweeted that “No President can order a wiretap. Those restrictions were put in place to protect citizens from people like you.”

Rhodes continued:

It appears that Trump got his ‘news’ from fake news’ site Breitbart.com:

Breitbart News on Friday reported on conservative radio host Mark Levin’s claim that Obama executed a “silent coup” of Trump via “police state” tactics. White House chief strategist Stephen Bannon was the executive chair of Breitbart before joining Trump’s team.

Donald is very good at projection. When he lashes out at media sources who are critical of him, the thin-skinned alleged billionaire calls them ‘fake news.’ Imagine if Obama acted like that while in office, conservatives would have lost their shit.”You’re FAKE NEWS! FAKE NEWS! I’m not going to listen. <sticks fingers in his ears> La la la la la la laaa! I can’t hear youuuu!”
