Remember when former President Barack Obama was in power and conservatives called the jobs report numbers rigged? Well, that’s no longer a thing and they’ve gone as far as to give amateur president Donald Trump credit for Obama’s economy. White House press secretary Sean Spicer tweeted, “Great news for American workers: economy added 235,000 new jobs, unemployment rate drops to 4.7% in first report for @POTUS Trump.”
Great news for American workers: economy added 235,000 new jobs, unemployment rate drops to 4.7% in first report for @POTUS Trump

Then Trump retweeted Drudge Report:
GREAT AGAIN: +235,000 https://t.co/GkockGNdtC

The Washington Post reports:
It’s worth pointing out, though, that the 235,000 jobs added — a figure that could be revised next month — is not the biggest gain we’ve seen in recent months. In fact, former president Barack Obama enjoyed 30 months during which the number of jobs rose more by more than 235,000.
But wait, there’s more!
Hard to see any Trump bump in these numbers. Nearly identical to last two Febs.

Trump spoke of the unemployment rate after winning the New Hampshire primary last February
“Don’t believe those phony numbers when you hear 4.9 and 5 percent unemployment. The number’s probably 28, 29, as high as 35. In fact, I even heard recently 42 percent,” he said.
A tweet from Trump in 2012:
If @BarackObama had to use the same labor participation he had when he entered office then the unemployment number would be 11.2%
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) September 7, 2012
So this is pretty much what just happened.
Rich white guy takes credit for accomplishments of black guy he called lazy https://t.co/ISuYONCn74

The job numbers Spicer is bragging about from February are close to the job numbers under Obama for February of 2015: 238,000 and February of 2016, 237,000.
Trump was sworn in on the 20th of January and is already taking credit for the economy. Meanwhile, we hope he doesn’t start a war since he just sent troops to Syria because that would cost taxpayers a lot of money. That’s what Obama had to deal with; Bush’s costly wars and an apocalyptic economy. Just in time for Trump to fuck it up and you know he’ll blame Obama for that when it happens.
The February jobs report occurred in the first full month of Trump’s term, but it was also the 77th consecutive month of job growth which can be attributed to Obama.
