Police Find Weed In Container Marked ‘Not Weed’

One super-smart Nebraska weed smoker had a container in his car labeled “Not weed” so when the cops pulled him over for a simple traffic violation, they took a look for themselves.

On Saturday, Jordan Meier, 21, was pulled over at around 9:00 p.m. in Lincoln, Nebraska. That’s when police discovered a plastic sour cream container with the scrawled message over it.

Opposing Views reports:

Meier fessed up and admitted to owning the container as well as the pot that was inside of it.

He was then arrested for marijuana possession as well as suspicion of drunken driving, according to the UK Daily Mail.

According to the Lancaster County Police, “A deputy sheriff stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation in Lincoln. The deputy arrested the driver for DUI, an inventory search of the vehicle yielded a 16 oz Sour Cream container labeled with permanent marker ‘Not Weed.’ The container contained 11.5 grams of suspected marijuana. The driver was cited for DUI and Possession of Marijuana, less than an ounce.”

The state of Nebraska has somewhat decriminalized possession of marijuana, however. This means that first time offenders will not receive a criminal record and will be able to avoid prison time as if it is a minor traffic violation.

Possession of more than an ounce carries a heavier sentence with a maximum fine of $300.

In an interview with The Smoking Gun, Meier said he was at a drive-thru Saturday afternoon when he removed a Sharpie marker from his pocket and wrote on the plastic container. Asked why, he replied, “I don’t know…I thought I was being funny. Inside joke with myself, I suppose.” He added, “Never thinking it would be confiscated.”

Meier’s Facebook page says he has attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and works at a Jimmy John’s sandwich shop.

He should have labeled the container, “Legalize it.” At least make a statement if you’re going to end up in the news.

I’m going to go into my Not Liquor cabinet to get some Not Vodka and make a Not Bloody Mary.
