REPORT: Trump Pissed Off He Can’t Meet The Queen, Cancels UK Visit

Donald Trump has reportedly canceled his plans to open the new U.S. embassy in London next month over concerns about the welcome he would receive in the UK, according to reports. Instead, the former reality show star is sending US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson.

The Independent reports:

Downing Street declined to comment on the particular case but reports suggested No 10 was aware the “working visit” had been postponed.

Mr Trump had been due to come to London to open the new £750m embassy, but was said to have abandoned the idea as he feels unhappy about the scale of the visit and the arrangements made.

The change of plans comes after Trump told Prime Minister Theresa May last month that he would visit the UK.

Trump is reportedly unhappy about the lack of “bells and whistles” surrounding the event and the fact that he would not be able to meet the Queen. Sources say that Trump has grown increasingly annoyed that “the red carpet treatment” was being scaled back as resentment over his arrival grew.

Britain’s Prince Harry, a friend of former President Barack Obama’s, is set to marry Meghan Markle. An invitation extended to Obama could cause a rift between the two countries. An invitation is not expected to be extended to Donald Trump. Obama is well received in the U.K. Donald Trump is not, although, May has been gracious toward the former reality show star. But, not going could be considered a snub to the United Kingdom.

Author Michael Wolff claimed in ‘Fire and Fury’ that Trump would be furious if he wasn’t invited to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding in May.

Trump sparked anger after retweeting anti-Muslim propaganda from far-right group Britain First.
