Road Raging Kansas Politician Allegedly Tells Teen: Go Back To Baltimore You Black N—ger B-tch

The Kansas Bureau of Investigations has launched an investigation into Edwardsville City Councilman Chuck Stites after he allegedly shouted racial slurs at a black teenager during a road rage incident.

Kali Chatmon, 17, was preparing to make a right turn on May 3, when she noticed a Black Lincoln with a turn signal on. However, instead of turning, the Lincoln drove straight through the intersection.

“He had on his signal like he was going to turn right to where I was, so I proceeded to take my right and we almost collided because he continued to go straight,” Chatmon recalled.

When both cars came to a stop, Chatmon offered an apology.

That’s when Stites rolled down his window then the racial slurs began.

“It really hurt. It really hurt my feelings,” the teen told KSHB. “He stopped where he rolled down his back window, started cussing at me and the passenger, and he called me a derogatory term and a racial slur.”

“He was just saying things like go back to Baltimore then he called me a black n–ger b-tch,” Chatmon said.

Chatmon filed a police report, which was eventually turned over to the Kansas Bureau of Investigations.

Chatmon wants an apology from Stites and she said that she believes he should resign.

Stites called the incident a “misunderstanding.”

“There’s an ongoing investigation,” Stites said. “It’s a misunderstanding. There’s a lot more to this story than is being told, and I think it would probably be inappropriate for me to comment much more until that investigation is complete.”

Stiles did not say whether the story was true or not.

“I’m okay with somebody voicing their opinion,” he added. “That’s their right, and that doesn’t bother me at all. I have no intention of stepping down.”
