News Corporation CEO Rupert Murdoch took to his Twitter account to suggest that Barack Obama is not a ‘real black president.’
Murdoch tweeted that Republican Presidential candidate Ben Carson is ‘terrific’ then asked, “What about a real black president who can properly address the racial divide?”
That didn’t go down too well on Twitter.
12 hours later, Murdoch tweeted an apology saying there was “no offence meant” and that he found “both men charming,” obviously referring to Obama and Carson.
The ‘apology’ didn’t go down well either.
Nathaniel Brown, spokesman for 21st Century Fox, the media giant co-chaired by Murdoch, told NBC News in an emailed response, “We don’t comment on his tweets.”
We can understand why. This isn’t the first time Murdoch has tweeted an offensive message.
Just this past January, he suggested most “Moslems” should be held accountable for the attack on Charlie Hebdo in Paris, France.
He tweeted, “Maybe most Moslems peaceful, but until they recognize and destroy their growing jihadist cancer they must be held responsible.”
