Rush Limbaugh Tells Listeners Hurricane Irma Is A Deep State Left Wing Conspiracy

As Hurricane Irma gets ready to pummel the bejesus out of the southeast, notorious asshole Rush Limbaugh put on his brand new Hurricane Truther hat. Limbaugh suggested that our anxiety and fear over the Category 5 superstorm is nothing more than a Deep State conspiracy for the left-wing to push its climate change agenda.

(Full disclosure: While we can be windbags sometimes, Deep State Nation has absolutely nothing to do with hurricanes.)

During his Tuesday morning broadcast of The Rush Limbaugh Show, the right-wing pundit claimed scientists and climate change believers are “using” Irma to stoke fear in the hearts of those who don’t believe that global warming is man-made. He also claimed the hurricane is getting a lot of media so that retailers and media make money. According to Limbaugh, the media coverage serves to allow stores to sell massive quantities of bottled water and other supplies. Like Trump, Rush talked ratings: More viewers watching storm coverage makes for better media ratings.

Actually, Rush, the reason Irma is garnering so much media attention is that it’s a deadly threat to the residents of Puerto Rico, the Caribbean Islands and Florida. Fact is, Irma might be the biggest storm since Hurricane Andrew. Some outlets are calling it the strongest storm ever recorded in the Atlantic.  With sustained winds of 185+ mph and torrential rain, the hurricane is expected to hit residents coast-to-coast, both in the Atlantic and Gulf regions. And that, sir, is why everyone is hunkering down; not for conspiracy’s sake.

Irma is bigger, stronger and faster than other recent superstorms. Nevertheless, the self-ordained weatherman told his listeners, “The reason that I am leery of forecasts this far out, folks, is because I see how the system works,” adding that this is something you can see in the way “the deep state deals with Trump.”

Well, Rush, your so-called president Donald Trump doesn’t think Irma is a hoax. He called it the greatest hurricane in the Atlantic ever. It’s so dangerous, that days before it’s expected to hit our U.S. shores, FEMA and the National Guard are already on alert and Florida’s own GOP Gov. Rick Scott has instructed residents to evacuate.

Regardless, Limbaugh mocked meteorologists and the “abundance of people” who believe “that man-made climate change is real.” He made fun of those who believed Al Gore when he said hurricanes would be stronger and more abundant than in previous years.

Duh! What Al Gore said has come true. Snap out of it.

Limbaugh went on to say that “when Harvey hit, it was the first hurricane that had hit in 12 years. There haven’t been more hurricanes and they’re no more dangerous than any others in previous years.”

There go the right-wing alternative facts again.  Truth is, Hurricane Sandy (unofficially referred to as “Superstorm Sandy”), the deadliest and most destructive hurricane of the 2012 Atlantic hurricane season, hit the Northeast hard in 2012.  It was the second-costliest hurricane in U.S. history — until Hurricane Harvey last week.

So while Rush Limbaugh and his listeners sit back and relax without worry, other media outlets, both liberal and conservative, are covering the hell out of the hurricane. Hell, even Matt Drudge’s Drudge Report is giving the superstorm top billing on his website.

As far as Hurricane Irma, Rush Limbaugh stands alone now with his Deep State conspiracy pile of sh*t. Geez, I hope his entire Florida broadcast studio doesn’t get swept away in the storm.
