Half-term Governor Sarah Palin is catching heat from her own supporters after posting photos on her Facebook page of her 6-year-old son, Trig, standing on top of a dog.
“May 2015 see every stumbling block turned into a stepping stone on the path forward,” Palin’s post read. “Trig just reminded me. He, determined to help wash dishes with an oblivious mama not acknowledging his signs for “up!”, found me and a lazy dog blocking his way. He made his stepping stone.”
But that didn’t go down well on her page, which usually blocks comments that disagree with her posts. You see, family pets have no political affiliation (because they’re smart and stay out of politics).
The post circulated on the Internet, outraging many and sparking an animal rights debate on Palin’s page. Opposing Views reports.
“Not cool. The dog and your kid could be harmed,” one comment read. “No, No, No! I love you Sarah but not THIS,” another said.
Another commenter said, “Labs put up with a lot and letting and encouraging your child to step in it, is animal abuse.”
Some condoned it. “do you think for one moment,if this was hurting that dog ,the lab wouldnt move? All you libs do is piss and moan.” [sic]
It’s hard to move when there’s a lot of weight on top of you.
Another writes, “Can not believe all the negative comments. Get a life. The dog probably learned a lesson and loved the attention.”
“Far beter to be stood on by a little boy than to be eaten by Oboma. Sarah loves animals and would not let them be hurt.” Donald writes.
What the hell is a ‘beter”?
Another writes that others weren’t upset when Ellen DeGeneres posted a picture of a kid standing on a dog. Personally, I don’t think anyone’s kid should use a a family pet as a ladder.
