In Part II of the social media war raging between Arnold Schwarzenegger and Donald Trump, the former California governor slammed America’s so-called president for garnering the lowest approval ratings ever received by a sitting president in his first 60 days in office.
“Oh, Donald, the ratings are in, and you got swamped,” the former California governor and “Celebrity Apprentice” host said in a video he posted online. “Wow. Now you’re in the 30s?”
The latest Gallup polling puts Trump’s approval rating at just 37%..
“But what do you expect?” Schwarzenegger added. “I mean when you take away after-school programs for children and Meals on Wheels for the poor people, that’s not what you call ‘making America great again.’ Come on!”
He added, “I mean, who is advising you? Let me give you some advice: go to a middle school — the Hart Middle School, right in Washington, six miles away from the White House.”
Making Trump an offer he shouldn’t refuse, Schwarzenegger then invited him to visit the middle school to see the work the work of the After-School All-Stars organization, which offers comprehensive after-school programs that keep children safe and help them succeed in school and in life. (Schwarzenegger is the founder and honorary chair of the organization.)
“I’ll take you there, so you can see the fantastic work that they’re doing for these children,” Schwarzenegger added.
Schwarzenegger tagged Trump, with whom he’s repeatedly clashed over his hosting of the Celebrity Apprentice. Trump ridiculed Schwarzenegger’s turn at hosting the show, which subsequently tanked in the ratings. But Schwarzenegger puts the low ratings for the show squarely on Trump’s presidential shoulders, err, unpopularity, as the reason audiences tuned out.
