On Conan O’Brien’s show, an emotional Sean Penn discussed Dick Cheney being alive and well after enduring five hearts attacks and a heart transplant while someone as “beautiful” as Harvey Milk was cut down.

He went there.

“You mentioned Dick Cheney, this kind of, you know, embittered bacteria of humanity,” Penn said. “It’s always a surprise to me to remember that, through bionic technology and so on, this guy’s still here.”

“But then we have people like Harvey Milk, who were beautiful, brilliant, impactful guys, and, you know – it’s just no good deed will go unpunished, and then you’ve got the Cheneys,” he said. “This is just me musing.”

Penn afforded credit to Dick Cheney and President George W. Bush for inspiring the Islamic State’s brutal assaults and terrorist activities in the Middle East.

“These are the guys, he and President (George W.) Bush and some others, who invented Daesh, or ISIS,” Penn said. “I mean, they really are that which created it, and so I wanted to give him a shout-out. Thanks for that.”

“I look at Barack Obama and I see the worst president of my lifetime, without question,” the former vice-president Cheney told journalist James Rosen in an interview recently. “I used to have significant criticism of Jimmy Carter, but compared to Barack Obama and the damage he is doing to the nation—it’s a tragedy.”
