In the wake of President Donald Trump’s Muslim ban, more voters are taking to Twitter to voice their regrets.
A Twitter user with the handle @Trump_Regrets has been posting tweets from Trump voters with buyers’ remorse since November. The Guardian reports the curator of Trump voters’ regrets is a 23-year-old named Erica Baguma. She began curating tweets after the President told 60 Minutes‘ Leslie Stahl he doesn’t want to hurt Hillary Clinton and has no plans to “lock her up!”
Believe it or not, not all who voted for Donald Trump are racist. As the left-wing gadfly and filmmaker Moore pointed out on MSNBC’s Morning Joe:
“You have to accept that millions of people who voted for Barack Obama — some of them once, some of them twice — changed their minds this time.”
Michael Moore went on to say many Trump voters — including those who now have regrets — are fed up with a corrupt system that’s “rigged” against them.
“But if you put people through another eight years where you haven’t — there’s no middle-class jobs, they are struggling to get by … These are the things that are important to people because they are trying to get by and living paycheck to paycheck.”
Now, Donald Trump is backing out on some of his promises, like his vow to “drain the swamp.” Yet he’s doubled down on others that many didn’t take seriously. These include building a wall, killing Obamacare, and banning Muslims.
Trump voters tweet their regrets.
After Donald Trump’s ban on Muslims, one concerned Twitter user asked him to “stop acting like [Adolf] Hitler.”
stop acting like Hitler. I supported you all the way. But your actions are making me ashamed.

Another demanded: “how the HELL is this different than what Hitler did to the Jews?”
Forgive my language but how's the HELL is this different than what Hitler did to the Jews?PRESIDENT TRUMP,I regret my vote!!#MuslimBan

But the most poignant regrets come from a Trump voter whose wife can’t come home from her visit to Yemen.

Plus, there’s all the lying about the Muslim ban not being a Muslim ban.
Sean Spicer said live it wasn't a ban. Now it is. I am so confused more than during your campaign. Still voted for you but?
— Brandon E Brown (@BrandonEBrown88) February 5, 2017
Even those who might support the ban wonder why Saudi Arabia isn’t on the list. Many right-wingers, such as those at the Cato institute, have called Saudi a “terrorist sponsor.”
@realDonaldTrump I voted for you, wish I didn't: you don't ban Saudi Arabia? They fund, teach and carry out 911? You are bought and sold!
— Craig Moyle (@CraigMoyle1) February 3, 2017
Some just want the president to focus on the issues he campaigned on. What happened to bringing our jobs back and “draining the swamp?”
— Kelly Kranstuber (@KellyKranstuber) January 30, 2017
Plus, all Donald Trump’s ban on Muslims achieves nothing. It just ticks people off.
@POTUS out of line sir, I voted for you
You could have just suspended the refugees but all you did was piss off 60% of Americans
— sal tracey (@saltracey) January 29, 2017
Meanwhile, Barack Obama had good reasons to oppose Israel’s illegal settlements on the West Bank. But Donald Trump ran as a friend of Israel. So why did he just warn them against building new settlements last week?
Many also have regrets Because he promised change and hasn’t delivered. Plus, Trump’s cabinet picks are terrifying.
@realDonaldTrump I regret supporting you. You're a greedy, Orwellian theocrat. Both your cabinet and recent decisions proves this.
— Nero of Rome (@TheOtherNero) February 3, 2017
. I voted for you. I wanted change. But not this. The world is watching and we should care.
— pie in our eye (@PINKYPIE41) January 29, 2017
I voted for you. You're embarrassing. Stick to jobs, trade, small business and boosting economy. Enough!
— Tressa Mattingly (@tressairis) January 29, 2017
I voted for you but Devos is a disgrace. A terrible choice for our kids. Your first yuge mistake.
— Stay Frosty (@oscarmike442) February 2, 2017
And what about Donald Trump’s pledge to not touch Social Security and Medicare?
Donald Trump also promised to keep us out of war and to focus on America. But now he’s making some warlike noises. Last week, Chief Strategist Steve Bannon said, “we’re going to war in the South China Sea in five-10 years.”
@realDonaldTrump I supported you President Trump because you were the NO WARS Presidential Candidate so WHAT”S GOING ON NOW-ANOTHER OBAMA?
— David Walden (@visionary831) February 3, 2017
Other nervous Trump supporters harbor regrets because of his puerile tweets, divisive statements, and autocratic behavior.
can you please go through Congress next time. You're not a king. I voted for you. Don't make me regret it.
— N/A (@aidanm_official) February 4, 2017

— Is 🇺🇸 Great again?? (@modernahmed123) February 5, 2017
@realDonaldTrump I voted for you, but may not do it again. Shaming individuals who disagree with you is unconscionable and unpresidential,
— Mary Osborne (@MaryOsborne8) January 31, 2017
cmon Trump, stop with the name calling and unite us, I voted for you but I thought you would quit tweeting after election

One recovering Trump voter even apologized to America while voicing her regrets.

NOTE: Some of the “Trump regrets” tweets are likely to be from fake accounts. And we can’t verify whether these tweeters have actually voted for Donald Trump. But we’ve taken the time to only cull tweets from accounts that appear to be genuine. The tweets shown above come from Twitter users who either launched their accounts six months ago or earlier and/or have a high volume of non-Trump-related tweets.
