Police with the University of Texas Health Science Center last week responded to Gold’s Gym in San Antonio over a report of a fight between two men, according to an arrest affidavit.

KSAT report:

The affidavit stated that several witnesses, including one who is a police officer, told the responding officers that one of the men involved in the fight had pulled out a gun and pointed it at the other.

Police said the incident also was captured on surveillance video.

The affidavit stated that the video shows a man, later identified as [Philip] Bernal, playing basketball, then going to his gym bag and removing an item which he placed into his pocket.

It stated that Bernal walked over and began talking to another player, then pulled the item out of his pocket and pointed it at the other man. The item, police said, was a gun.

According to what witnesses told police, the man with the gun later changed his clothes and left the gym, the affidavit stated.

One gym worker who checked in the gunman, told officers his name and address from the gym’s records, the affidavit stated.

Philip Bernal was arrested on charges of deadly conducting and unlawful carrying of a weapon.

Yesterday we reported on the story of an Oklahoma man who pointed a gun in a man’s face and at children, all because his granddaughter did not play in the softball game.

Clearly, this is why the Second Amendment was created.

Grab some popcorn. This ‘guns everywhere’ plan of the NRA’s is getting interesting. On the other hand, it ends in tragedy far too often and that is unacceptable.
