Donald Trump is mad as hell about his pitiful performance in recent polls, so he is doing exactly what he has always done when faced with adversity: Threatening a lawsuit. The problem is, the person he really should be suing is himself.
During an interview on Fox’s “O’Reilly Factor,” the host asked Trump if he believed he would be winning in the polls “if not for the ‘Access Hollywood’ stuff.”
Trump, not missing a beat to blame someone else for his failures and poor behavior, answered affirmatively and in a somewhat ironic twist, blamed the microphone.
I just don’t know. I think it was very negative. It was locker room talk. The microphone was not supposed to be on. Not that I make that an excuse for myself, but, certainly, it was an illegal act.
He added in the “not that I make that an excuse for myself” while basically making an excuse for himself.
I said the words but I didn’t mean for people to hear the words. . . garble, garble. . . locker room talk.
But, it didn’t end there. He continued his elementary defense saying he “absolutely” believed it was illegal for NBC to release the tape and claimed the buss was considered a “dressing room.”
O’Reilly then asked if Trump plans to take any legal action once the election is over. Trump answered in reality tv style, hoping to keep the viewers engaged enough in the train wreck to stay tuned through the commercial break.
You’ll see. You’ll see.
Ahh, yes, isn’t it a lovely prospect of having a sitting president who is working hard to file lawsuits against the women who accuse him of sexual assault, the media who publish the words he actually speaks, and basically anyone else who says “boo” to him?
The website Five Thirty Eight has compiled a list of the litigious threats made by Donald Trump since his campaign has started. This instance will go down as #21, although the website has corrected two of the claims, as they happened before Trump “officially” kicked off his campaign. He has followed through with two of those threats.
However, it is important to note that Donald Trump has been listed as the plaintiff or defendant in 4,095 actual lawsuits over the course of three decades, according to USA Today. Of those 4,000 he was the plaintiff in 2,121. For math nerds, that averages out to nearly six new lawsuits per month over the course of 30 years.
That doesn’t look like Trump is vying for the title of commander-in-chief, but a whiner who is seeking the position of suer-in-chief.
