Ivanka Trump traveled to Tokyo, Japan to deliver a speech on women’s empowerment barely a year after her father was seen on the famous Access Hollywood tape saying, “When you’re a star, they let you do it. Grab them by the p***y. You can do anything.”

It wasn’t well-attended.

To say that her reception at the “World Assembly for Women” (WAW!) was less than impressive would be giving it more credit than it is due. As noted on Twitter, the audience was less than half what was expected.

Officials for the event told The Guardian:

Officials reportedly said her speech was the most registered event of the three-day assembly, but that tight security had meant not everyone had been able to enter the hall before the doors were closed for the duration of the speeches by Abe and Trump.

According to The Guardian, their reporter arrived just ten minutes before the event began and there were only a few people “milling” around outside the auditorium.

Given who (and what) her father is, presenting a speech about a zero tolerance policy for sexual harassment at work would seem like the very definition of an oxymoron. While we might all agree with her message, “All too often, our workplace culture fails to treat women with appropriate respect,” hearing it from a person who has enabled her father for her entire life might have been too much for the common sense Japanese audience.

As Ivanka finishes up her trip, her father is scheduled to start an Asia adventure in Japan on Sunday. Trump will play some golf, talk with Japan’s Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, play golf, meet with meet Emperor Akihito, play golf, and meet with relatives of people that are being held in North Korea.

And did we mention that he’ll be playing some golf?
