More details have emerged over the tragic shooting that killed a 3-year-old girl Saturday in Killeen, Texas.
The Killeen Daily Herald reports:
According to an arrest affidavit, a witness told police that the young girl’s father, 27-year-old Ashton Blake Salvato, was “playing with a gun” when he shot the young girl.
What was deemed as an apparent ‘accidental’ shooting could have easily been prevented, by not “playing” with an AR-15 semi-automatic rifle and his child within target range.
In a residence, just before 12:20 p.m., the father killed his young daughter in what most certainly not an ‘accident.’
Officers performed CPR on the little girl who was identified as Cessa Joy Salvato. She was rushed to a local hospital where she died from her injuries.
Salvato told police he checked the chamber of his gun, an AR-15 semi-automatic rifle, and didn’t see a round in the chamber, according to the arrest affidavit.
Salvato was arrested on Sunday and arraigned on a second-degree felony charge of manslaughter in connection with the shooting.
Salvato’s bond is set at $1 million.
According to the Killeen Daily Herald, Cessa Joy Salvato’s death marks the sixth homicide death in Killeen for 2015.
All six of those deaths in the city which is populated by only 127,921 people involved firearms.
The full automatic version of the AR-15 fires 800 rounds a minute, which is 13.3 rounds per second, which also makes a great playtime toy while spending quality time with your toddler. But of course, the speed of how fast one can pull the trigger determines how many bullets can be discharged.
A parent could obtain body armor for their child, but of course, right wing Second Amendmenters came out strongly against a ban on armor piercing bullets, because freedom.
It would have been far better if the father had just masturbated to his AR-15 and shot his dick off so that he couldn’t breed in the future.
A child should never be met with such a violent death.
