Robin Rhodes, 57, is accused of going on a racist tirade at John F. Kennedy Airport, yelling threatening slurs and kicking a Muslim Delta employee in the leg while saying that “Trump is here now. He will get rid of you all,” among other things.

Rhodes was arrested after returning in January from a trip to Aruba where he allegedly attacked Rabeeya Khan at John F. Kennedy airport. He was charged with third-degree assault as a hate crime, unlawful imprisonment as a hate crime, third-degree menacing as a hate crime and second-degree aggravated assault, Mass Live reports.

Q13 Fox reports:

According to Queens District Attorney Richard Brown, Rhodes was waiting for a connecting flight to Worcester, Massachusetts, when he entered the Delta Sky Lounge at JFK. He came up to the office of the employee, who has not been identified, and said, “Are you [expletive deleted] sleeping? Are you praying? What are you doing?”

The criminal complaint states that Rhodes punched the employee’s office door, which hit the back of the Khan’s chair. The employee asked Rhodes what she had done to him and he replied, “You did nothing but I am going to kick your [expletive deleted] ass.”

Rhodes went on to kick the employee in the leg, the complaint says.

Employees tried to get their colleague away from Rhodes but he would not stop and blocked her from escaping the office.

Another person attempted to calm Rhodes down to move him away from the door. That’s when Ms. Khan ran to the lounge’s front desk, but Rhodes followed her. At one point he got down on his knees to mock the Muslim faith as if he was praying.

According to the police report, Rhodes shouted at Khan, “(obscenity) Islam, (obscenity) ISIS, Trump is here now. He will get rid of all of you. You can ask Germany, Belgium, and France about these kind of people. You will see what happens.”

Mass Live reports:

Following his arrest, Rhodes was appointed P. Scott Dufault as his lawyer, but has since found a new attorney to represent him. In February, Dufault said that the charges were overblown.

“What I understand is that this thing was overblown, number one. Number two, if this woman was injured at all, Mr. Rhodes did not intentionally injure her at all,” Dufault said.

Yeah, sure, that’s why the Massachusetts man threatened to kick her ass. The victim suffered substantial pain and redness in her right leg and was placed in fear of physical injury, annoyance and alarm.

Worst case of ‘economic anxiety’ ever.

Cryogenics Institute of New England appears to have updated its page to remove mention of the company’s owner – Robin Rhodes.
