In a softball interview that began with Huckabee shamelessly fishing for compliments for his daughter, White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders, pretender-in-chief Donald Trump spent 27 minutes embarrassing himself. Media Matters described Mike Huckabee as a “fawning sycophant” and they could not have been more accurate.

The show, “Mike Huckabee Today,” is a brand new venture for the Trinity Broadcasting Network (TBN) and is hosted by the former governor and two-time presidential candidate (you may spell that “loser” — we do). To begin his first-ever show, he decided to call on the waning star-power of our tiny-handed leader. TBN generally focuses on religious programming but is hoping for an infusion of life with this foray into political programming.

We’d like to say that the show didn’t disappoint, but … well … it did, unless you expected it to be all kinds of hokey, with fumbling questions asked by a man who seemed to be all star-struck and in awe of the other man sitting across from him (he of the tiny hands). It was kind of painful to watch.

Trump defended hurling paper towels at hurricane victims in Puerto Rico last week.

“They had these beautiful, soft towels, very good towels. And I came in and there was a crowd of a lot of people, and they were screaming and they were loving everything,” Trump said. “I was having fun, they were having fun.”

“They said, ‘throw ‘em to me! Throw ‘em to me Mr. President!’ Trump said, before imitating shooting a basketball in the same manner that he tossed the paper towels.

“So the next day they said, ‘oh it was so disrespectful to the people.’ It was just a made-up thing,” he said. “And also when I walked in, the cheering was incredible.”

“You were a rock star,” Huckabee replied.

Watch the ‘interview’:

While the show is based out of Hendersonville, Tennessee, TBN is based in California. And the first interview took place in Washington D.C. (probably because Hendersonville doesn’t have a decent golf course? Although they do have a yacht club …).

Trump actually said that he thinks he’s the first one that has called out news programs as FAKE!
