Trump Shamelessly Using Hurricane Harvey To Sell Hats For Re-Election Campaign (IMAGES)

While plagued with scandals and conflicts of interest, Donald Trump took it upon himself to promote a line of hats he’s selling on his online store as he responds to water-soaked Texas after Hurricane Harvey barreled down on the state. The White House released two photos of the former reality show star wearing Trump brand hats as part of the response to Hurricane Harvey. The hats are sold in Trump’s online store, with the proceeds going to his re-election campaign.

Meanwhile, it’s not Trump who is responding to the devastated state:

White House photos released over the weekend show President Donald Trump sitting quietly alone at Camp David as Vice President Mike Pence and other cabinet members gathered in the Situation Room to deal with the devastation of Hurricane Harvey.

But he’s got to sell those hats.

Trump’s dumb hats sell for $40 each at his online store. The description reads, “The only place online to purchase the Official USA rope hat worn by 45th President-Elect Donald J. Trump, himself.”

We suggest you use that forty bucks to donate to the Red Cross to help the victims of the hurricane in Texas. So far, there have been 2,000 water rescues in the state. Five people have died. Parts of Houston may see 50 inches of rain in total and the rain that has already fallen across the greater Houston area and Southeast Texas tallies to 9 trillion gallons. Homes are destroyed, people are being rescued and Trump is promoting his hat.
