The star of ‘Presidential Apprentice’ did not like being called out this morning on MSNBC, so he posted sexist tweets about host Mika Brzezinski. Of course, Donald Trump has the full support of his staff for this exercise because there’s no other work for them to do today.
Health insurance markets in disarray? Opiod addiction crisis? Ongoing Russian interference in American elections? Don’t be silly! Those are boring to Donald. Nothing is more important to this alleged president than his fragile ego, so trash talk is now the official business of the Oval Office and everyone in it.
Host Joe Scarborough was reacting to a report in POLITICO this morning that Secretary of State Rex Tillerson blew up at White House aides last Friday for interfering in his hiring decisions. Similar stories have emerged about tensions between Tillerson and Jared Kushner, Trump’s son-in-law.
“What Rex Tillerson did was patriotic and way overdue,” Scarborough said. “This White House — because Donald Trump wants his son-in-law to be the de facto secretary of state and anybody going in there knows that he wants Jared to be the de facto secretary of state, so they have cut Rex Tillerson off at the knees every single day.”
Brzezinski echoed her co-host by calling Kushner “the guy with no experience.” Indeed, the 31-year old political amateur’s recent diplomatic initiative to the Middle East ended in embarrassment when he managed to offend the Palestinians.
Moments after the exchange, White House social media director Dan Scavino tweeted that the Morning Joe team was “unhinged” because the president has ignored them. In Trump’s mind, nothing could possibly be worse than to be ignored:

Which is weird, because the president was definitely not ignoring them a half-hour later:
I heard poorly rated @Morning_Joe speaks badly of me (don’t watch anymore). Then how come low I.Q. Crazy Mika, along with Psycho Joe, came..
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) June 29, 2017
…to Mar-a-Lago 3 nights in a row around New Year’s Eve, and insisted on joining me. She was bleeding badly from a face-lift. I said no!
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) June 29, 2017
Get that? The man has been married to three women who all had plastic surgery at one time or another, and has even had his own bald spot removed, so he’s the perfect guy to be judgmental about other people’s facelifts. Mika had “blood coming out of her wherever” just like Megyn Kelly. Ha! Ha! It’s funny because it’s sexist and chauvinist.
Just like when Donald ogled that Irish reporter this week, calling her over to the Oval Office desk so he could compliment her appearance on the phone with the Irish Taoiseach. Or when his campaign manager Corey Lewandowski left bruises on Michelle Fields’s arm. Or his Access Hollywood boasting about sexual assault. Or…
Yeah, let’s just call him a pig and be done with it. We’ll let the White House staff try to add nuance and spin to this dumpster fire of a presidency:
Sarah Huckabee Sanders on President’s tweet this morning: “This is a President who fights fire with fire”
— Vaughn Sterling (@vplus) June 29, 2017
“It’s a sad day for America when the president spends his time bullying, lying, and spewing petty personal attacks instead of doing his job,” MSNBC replied in a statement.
Never imagined a day when I would think to myself, “it is beneath my dignity to respond to the President of the United States.”

It’s not just that Trump cannot seem to accomplish the routine business of the United States. The damning fact is that he and his crime family cannot seem to achieve even the limited goals that they have set for themselves. Yet there is somehow always time and energy to spare for another fight with Rosie O’Donnell.
Mr. President, your tweet was beneath the office and represents what is wrong with American politics, not the greatness of America.
— Lindsey Graham (@LindseyGrahamSC) June 29, 2017
Please just stop. This isn’t normal and it’s beneath the dignity of your office.
— Ben Sasse (@BenSasse) June 29, 2017
Of course, there are legitimate questions remaining. One wonders how Melania’s anti-cyberbullying campaign is going right now, and what she thinks about her husband’s porcine behavior. Did her belated decision to move into the White House give Donald a burst of confidence, resulting in his sexist self-expression? Does she burn with resentment whenever her husband drools over other women? Does she ever fear his verbal lash when he gets vindictive and mutters about women who anger him bleeding from various places?
The target of all this hostility had perhaps the best response of anyone:
— Mika Brzezinski (@morningmika) June 29, 2017
The president of the United States is a petty, thin-skinned man who is also very bad at his job. Unfortunately, he’s dragging all of us down with him.
