If you thought you’d heard just about every excuse under the sun for why Alabama Republican Senate candidate Roy Moore is such a disgusting pervert, the candidate himself decided to provide a new and even more ludicrous one at a campaign event Monday evening.
Moore, who was once banned from a mall in Alabama because he couldn’t stop harassing young girls and asking them for dates, told a group of his most ardent acolytes that his opponent, Democrat Doug Jones, was willing to do anything to defeat him:
“Politicians will stop at nothing to win in an election. This race, in particular, has been opposed by a tremendous amount of money. I was just advised a few days ago that my opponent’s getting a million dollars every four days. That is extravagant.”
Is it as “extravagant” as calling underage girls on the phone and telling them how pretty they are, Roy?
But would-be Senator Rapey McRaper was far from done, also taking shots at The Washington Post for daring to report the allegations made by numerous women against him:
“It’s no different than when the Washington Post brought out the Russia investigation at a time when President Trump is trying to get his agenda passed. That’s exactly what they’re doing. They’re taking attention away, and they’re not getting anything they’re doing. They’re taking attention away from the Senate, and the Congress, who can’t pass legislation.”
So wouldn’t that mean that Moore’s attempts to slag his accusers are also an attempt to divert attention from the fact that he’s a dirty old man?
Looking a lot like a man who has already been defeated by his past and the lies he’s stacked up to try and deny who he really is and always has been, Moore pretended to put a positive spin on his own moral decadence:
“The people of this country want movement. They don’t want false attacks like this. That’s exactly what’s happening in this case.”
If that’s true, Roy, why are Republicans across the country lining up to condemn you? Are they all part of the grand conspiracy, too? Or might it be they simply don’t want a pedophile in the U.S. Senate?
